Kylie Santoro Horrell

Kylie is thrilled to be living out her dream as she officially opened STRIVE Performing Arts Center’s doors in October 2017 and is now ending her second successful season with the Academy’s first Musical Production! Aside from her professional performance career, Kylie has always been passionate about sharing her experiences, education, and knowledge with young aspiring artists. Kylie believes she offers something valuable and priceless to her students that sets STRIVE Performing Arts Center apart from the rest; her fifteen plus years of education in the industry, her prestigious four year Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theater from Wright State University, and her six years, and counting, professional career in the industry! She has trained and worked alongside some ofthe industries top educators, choreographers and professionals and she continues to train and educate herself, as well as, pursue her passion for performing inorder to give her students the most current, competitive and high level training and opportunities available to them. Kylie is dedicated to the youth of the Pittsburgh area and it has always been her goal to bring the performing arts culture and experience to the valley and shape her students into exceptional individuals. Her work is held in high esteem due to her expert eye for technique and attention to detail in the classroom, her unique choreography and her innate and cutting edge artistic vision and artistry.

 

Some of Kylie’s impressive credentials include, extensive training in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, tap, musical theater dance styles, voice, music and acting. Her intensive education and training started at the age of twelve and continued on with Pittsburgh Youth Ballet & Point Park College’s summer intensive programs, as well as, private voice and acting lessons with Carnegie Mellon Professors, Claudia Benack and Jill Wadsworth. She was accepted into and offered talent scholarships from multiple Performing Arts Conservatories, but ultimately accepted Wright State University’s offer into their prestigious Musical Theater program. There she continued her professional training under prestigious names in the industry: Joe Deer, Teresa Wylie McWilliams, Sutton Foster, Dave Clemmons, Noah Racey and many more!

Over the years, Kylie has performed in many professional musicals, plays, cabarets, showcases, TV shows and commercials. The last six years she has taught and choreographed several styles of dance and performing arts classes in the Pittsburgh area. She debuted her first solo album “Here I Stand” in the springof 2015 and debuted her jazz/blues band, Kylie and the Toros in the summer of 2017. Kylie is also very active in the community and values the opportunity to be apart of it. She is a proud board member and featured vocalist for the Mon Valley Academy for the Arts and a proud member of the Mon Valley Regional Cham- ber of Commerce. STRIVE Performing Arts Center was also named among the TOP FIVE of The Best of The Best 2018 for Performing Arts Schools and Education in the Allegheny, Washington, Greene and Mon Valley Counties! She is thankful for the opportunity to make an impact in her hometown and community and looks forward to her continued involvement. Kylie’s vision and goals for STRIVE’s future is something you willwant to experience and be a part of! Her passion and love for her art is truly undeniable and contagious!

MALLORY SCALISE

Academy Administrator 

Mallory is the younger sister of STRIVE’S Owner/ Artistic Director, Kylie Santoro-Horrell. She started dancing at the age of five, and throughout her dance career she won “Tap Dancer of The Year”, “Jazz Dancer of the Year”, “Modern Dancer of the Year”, “Best Choreography”, and continued her dance education at California University of Pennsylvania. While at CalU she took multiple dance courses, was a member of the Dance Team, and was featured in the annual Spring Dance Concert. Currently, Mallory works full time for Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy and Associates Inc. (OSPTA) as their Marketer and Social Media Advertiser. In addition to being a first and full time mommy, she recently found and is pursuing her true passion and calling- Officially Certified as a Holistic Birthkeeper and Doula! She is beyond excited to see where this new opportunity and journey will take her! Dance has always been a

passion of Mallory’s and is grateful that dance is still a part of her life and that she can experience her sister’s dream become a reality!
